The facilities were excellent. The hotel has an onsen in the basement (seperate mens/womens). Very relaxing after a day's sightseeing. When we booked we knew that breakfast was included. The breakfast had a wide range of hot and cold food. There was japanese breakfast items (hot and cold). Cereals, fresh fruit and croisants and pastries. What was not known to us was that the hotel served afternoon tea/coffee/wine with cookies and tiny scones with jam and cream and rice crackers and nuts. In the evening there was more to eat a light supper of rice and a selection of toppings. Both of these were an exellent surprise. The room was very comfortable and quiet. It was a good temperature and the beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean. We were provided with Jinbei style pajamas and slippers, which were handy for visiting the onsen. There are two washer/dryers which were very useful. The staff were very helpful, showing me how to use the washing machine, looking up taxi cost from a local taxi firm. The walk from the local rail stations is about 1 kilometer but the walk is flat and easy and almost a straight line on one road. The local bus service is excellent and there are lots of buses that stop only a couple of streets away. For sight seeing it is not far from the river and some picturesque streets. Also Nishiki market is not far, worth a visit for lots of fresh street food. On the day we checked out they let us leave our luggage there which we collected later in the day.

This hotel has so many things that we loved. Location is so good, for our needs, we know this city very well and we like to walk everywhere, so for us location couldn't have been better, at what you could call "city center". Main train station is a 30 minutes walk, so someone who needs to be close to the main train station won't consider it so good. Room was also very confortable, big and warm (it was freezing outside). Bed was confortable, all perfect in regards the room. The hotel also offers some amenities that are so enjoyable. For us a comunal bath, or onsen, is essential. Onsen at Intergate Hotel was good, offering many skincare products as well. There's also some snacks and drinks that you can enjoy if you happen to pass by the hotel during the day, this is also a nice treat, and breakfast was absolutely delicious! if you are looking for a Japanese style breakfast you'll definetly love it here, everything was delicious, we stayed for over a week and never got bored of eating similar dishes everyday. If you like a more western style breakfast you will also find some options. People working at the hotel is also very polite and nice.

Everything! It’s a very comfortable, friendly, clean place. We were made to feel very welcome. The onsen is lovely and clean. It’s very well equipped with everything you could need. The free evening drinks were really good! We enjoyed the massage chair too. Rooms were big, beds super comfy and pillows just the right level of soft/firm. Staff were always courteous and very helpful. It’s ideal for exploring most parts of Kyoto. We went west, north and east during our stay and the furthest place was no more than an hour away. There are bus connections from several nearby spots joining up with subway stations and other bus routes. Gion is about 30 minutes walk. Very very good value for money for the quality of experience! Highly recommend.

- Very accommodating, pleasant and polite staff, they were a pleasure to interact with, Japanese hospitality is top notch. - The room and bathroom were a decent size for my standards, clean and well laid out - The extra amenities that can be taken from the ground floor including skin care items and disposable hair brushes etc. were a nice bonus - The staff were kind enough to hold our luggage for us behind reception, giving as an extra few hours to explore Kyoto luggage free - We didn't have time to use it, but the hotel has an onsen on the ground floor - Decent location, 10 mins walk from Nishiki food market and some of the main shopping streets in Kyoto. Great public transport links to local temples, shrines and nearby Osaka.

Location was great - on a less busy road, close to Shijo and Karasuma. The interior of the hotel was stylish and well-maintained, with great ambience. The staff came across professional, friendly and service-minded. There was a nice little seating area in the lobby and a selection of books and newspapers available to read. The breakfast/lounge area accommodated the number of guests well enough, even on busy mornings. The buffet-style breakfast offered a wide range of options. Our room was on the 4th floor. The room and the bathroom were spacious enough, well-equipped, clean and tidy.
